The process of lipo battery cell's formation and capacity grading is completed through the professional grading system cabinet. Its function is just like a "charger", just with this system, it can charge & discharge for many cells at the same time. And during this process was monitored by computer to get every monitoring-site datas like capacity, IR and others of each cell, and then to define the grade of the cells, this is the capacity grading.
And after the cells first time capacity grading, usually need put them with shelve time at least around 15 days, because during this time, the cells which are negative in quality such as with high IR, high self-discharge cells…etc. will be knocked out, and leave all the cells with full capacity and steady performance data.
Another purpose for this process is in order to make classification and organization of each cell. It means to select the cells with same capacity & IR for assembly them as battery packs. As the consistency of each cell is very important to make sure the battery packs with highest steady quality & performance, long cycle-life, low self-discharge and high security.
